Model T Custom need Gear Set

Model T Coupe with 302 engine.

Question:  Understandably, this is a aam 021custom application. I have shoehorned a Hipo 302 with a C4 and narrowed 8″ rear into a 1925 Model T Coupe. I am running 10″x15″ tires on the rear and 5″x14″ up front. Originally the rear had 2.78 gears. I have installed 3.80 with a locker but feel the RPM will be quite high for a comfortable long distance ride and a 12 gallon fuel tank. I am leaning towards either 3.00 or 3.25 rear ration. Any advice?

Answer:  Below is a quick formula that will let you calculate te correct gear ratio that you need.

RPM= MPH x  Gear Ratio x  336   then divide this by tire diameter in inches. This will tell you what RPM you would be at with whatever MPH & Ratio you select.

Need Aluminum Drive Shaft

I have a K2500 1999 7.4L Automatic 4WD

Question:  I have a 1999 K2500 crew cab short box Chev 4X4. It has had a vibration in the driveline since I purchased it used 8 years ago. I have had the driveshafts balanced, I checked the opperating angles of the u joints, hanger bearing replaced along with replacing the u joints. I was made aware that this is an ongoing problem with these trucks and that there was a optional 1 piece aluminum driveshaft available which is no longer available through Chev. Is this something that can be built by provenforce? Any help or suggestions will be greatly appriciated.

Answer:  We can provide  brand new aluminum shaft fabricated in our shop to replace your existing shat.  Depending upon what joints from you existing shaft we can use the cost will run between $500. and $600 plus freight.  See the other driveline and drive shafts  assemblies we can provide on our site.

Change Gear Ratio Dodge Larime

I have  1999 Dodge Larime 1/3=2 ton pickup 318 automatic 4WD

Question: Would like to know if you have a 4.10 ring&pinion set front and rear. For my truck .Also would like to add a front locker .I have a 5 inch lift and 33/12.5/15 tires. If so cost and shipping to Hawaii.

Answer:   We can provide the following part for your application:

  • Rear diff should be 9.25 inch Chrysler order our ring and pinion number PFC9.25-410 your cost $ 214.48
  • You should also probably change the bearings you will need part number PFR-925-R your cost is $117.72
  • Front Dana 44 ring and pinion kit  is our part number PFDN70738-5X your cost is $ 263.92
  • Again you should change the bearings order part number PFD 706032X your cost is $ 31.60
  • For the front locker we recommend the True Trac part number PF913A592 your cost is $530.24 plus S&H.

Question:  I would like to know if you have PFU315-5 in stock, so I can offer it to my customer.

Answer:  It will take us a few days to build and test Part number PFU315-5 is BW4484.

Transfer case your cost is $1,460.00. plus $600.00 core deposit plus freight.

Question:  I have a 1973 Dodge Challenger with a 8.75 diff it is a 489 differential and I’m looking for the standard ring and pinion 2.74-1 do you have anything in stock, maybe even 2.9-1?

Answer: Nothing out there that we know of, a 3.55  ratio is the closest we can get.

Yoke NP261HD Frozen on Front Output Shaft

I have a 2001 Chevrolet 2500 Heavy Duty, 6.0L Automatic 4WD


NP261HD Transfer Case

Question:  I have a 2001 Chevy 2500HD with a np261HD transfer case. The front ujoint is worn out so I started taking the front driveshaft out. Until I could not get the slip yoke out of the transfer case. I have tried everything i can think of, heat, rust penetrate, hammer, bigger hammer, strap pulling on it while heating it up then a big hammer. Nothing will get the slip yoke to come out of the transfer case. Any suggestions?

Answer:   You will need to carefully cut the Yoke off then disassemble the transfer case. During the reassembly you will need  to replace the front output shaft along with the slip yoke.  Give us a call and we can help you with parts.

Driveshaft for 1994 Mercedes SL320

I have a 1994 Mercedes SL320.

Question:  ; I am interested in replacing the driveline_assembly. My question is what all is included with your drive shaft, and will it require any assembly before installation?

Answer:   We can provide the driveshaft that you need. In order to quote and exact price we need the Vin # , typical cost is $336.00 with $100.00 core.

This is the whole shaft put together no assembly required. They do not come with the rubber flex discs on ether end of drive shaft if you would need Disc they are $104.54 apiece

The split on the Vin number is to Vin F102743 and after F102744 please give James in advanced to ordering so he can make sure we have good core and have all the parts are instock to build your shaft.

Single Piece Driveline for 2006 Dodge 2500

I have a Dodge 3/4 ton with the 5.9L engine, automatic 4WD.

Question:  I am currently running driveline_assemblya two piece drive shaft on my quad cab long bed. I was hoping to get a quote on an aluminum one-piece drive shaft similar to the one Dodge began putting in some of the newer trucks. The truck is lifted six inches also via six inch front coils and 4-inch taller leaf springs in the rear. Thank you for an assistance you can offer.

Answer:  We can manufacture for you a brand new single piece aluminum driveshaft that will be high speed balanced before leaving the factory. Utilizing the single piece driveline will allow you to eliminate the center bearing/hanger assembly.  Your cost on this unit will be between $550.00 and $625.00 depending on the condition of you core, plus freight. We will need your existing driveshaft setup in order to get the correct dimensions and this assumes that we can reuse your existing slip yoke as this is a Dodge only part.

We will provide an final estimate before work is started as soon as your core arrives at the factory.

1996 Dodge Ram 1500 Clutch/Transmission Problem

I have a Dodge 1/2 ton pickup 2WD

Question:  On mornings thatluk_repset its cool outside and only for about the first 10 minutes of driving, it grinds or feels like its catches going from 1st to 2nd.

Answer:  Sounds like a clutch problem or possibly hydraulics issue, we suggest that in the morning pump the clutch 10 times prior to trying to drive the vehicle..

If all is ok then we suggest you start by replacing your slave cylinder.  You can see the other clutch components we can provide for your dodge on our site.
